Your Lie In April - Add Subtitles to Netflix
A fantastic series that really caught me off guard is “Your Lie In April” (also known by Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso) and I’ve been watching it on Netflix while I’ve been traveling. The thing that’s annoying about Netflix is that when I go to a different country I get a different set of shows and subtitles.
Say I’m watching a show in Canada, when I go to Japan it may have different sub titles or it might not be available. Netflix’s problems can really make it hard for me to complete a show that I get hooked into. Fortunately there are a couple of different options for you if you get in this same position.
Add Your Own Subtitles
Believe it or not, there is actually a way to add additional subtitles to Netflix. In a region without the language you prefer, no problem. Let’s talk about Substital, an application that manages adding subtitles right into the Netflix interface. We have an article on how to setup Substital for your needs.
Once you have Substital you can select from existing available subtitles that are integrated right into Substital. Otherwise you can try these options:
Use a VPN to go to a region that shows your show
Another option that is really popular these days is to use a VPN to keep watching shows that are available in other regions and countries. A VPN connects you to services like Netflix and Amazon Prime from within an different region to trick the sites to show you different shows. It’s a legitimate usage of the VPN and comes at a reasonably low cost.
If Your Lie In April isn’t available in your region, you can use a VPN to browse other regions for it. It’s currently available in the US, Canada, and Japan to name a few. For more information, read our guide to find the right VPN for you.
